Hey everyone Recently I received an iPhone 6S with a slight bend in the middle near the SIM card tray, and a shattered screen. I removed the screen, the battery, and the logic board and attempted to straighten the bend out with a C clamp, but it did nothing. I tried using a rolling pin and just pressing it down with my hands, but nothing worked. I heard that you can buy replacement bodies for iPhones that have your IMEI number printed on them, as well as the apple logo. Hugh Jeffrys (Look him up on youtube) got one of these in his recent video where he repaired an SE, but I can’t seem to find anywhere that provides these. Replacing the body would be good, since the current one has a small crack and several scuff marks on it, but since I plan to sell the phone after I fix it I need the new body to have the IMEI number and the apple logo. Does anybody have any ideas on how to either get rid of the bend or links to new bodies I can buy? I’d really appreciate if you could help me out. Thanks!
Buy a cheap, broken 6s with a relatively good condition housing, then simply swap the board over. The repair on a 6s is relatively easy to do, especially if you have previously repaired your device. If you aren’t sure what to do/what order to remove parts follow this guide: iPhone 6s Rear Case Replacement Bonus of purchasing a broken 6s, is that it may have working parts inside you can use, which would speed up the repair. I don’t know why they think it would take 3 hours, it can be done much quicker than that,
The IMEI number on the 6s is on the sim tray not on the back housing like the 6. You can buy blank housings with the components installed for about $20 on Aliexpress. I don’t think you will find anyone selling new OEM Apple housings as customs are starting to confiscate parts with an apple logo printed on them. The best thing to do would be to purchase an iCloud locked 6s that has a good housing and swap the logic boards.
