This is on an HP 2711x monitor. Try as I might, I can’t get the flat cable back in. Does a piece of the connector raise up to allow easy insertion? I’ve tried prying in various directions, but I don’t want to break it. Any tips appreciated.

It turns out that the white plastic piece slides OUT, not UP. The bad news is that I broke the piece off in the process of discovering this. But the ribbon cable fits snugly enough that I’m not too worried. I’ll secure it with some strong tape. Apparently the pins that are seen going into that piece from the back simply serve as a stop to prevent it from sliding too far back. They don’t actually penetrate the plastic piece. @hellomacos

Hi Yes there is a bit that should lift up! If you look at the photo I have highlighted the part the should move in a red box If it’s not moving at all let me know but if you get a small plastic pry tool and flick the bit highlife upwards you should be able to put the cable in then slide it back down Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)
