Chosen Solution
I have an iMac 27 inches late 2012 model with the slim unibody design. the hinge give up last night and I would like to fix this myself.I don’t want to go to apple for this. I am experienced with the complete disassembly of this machine before, so my question is, can I order this hinge alone from somewhere online, any idea who sells this and can I replace this hinge myself? While I do this I would also like to replace the stand with a vesa mount for my machine, so can I totally dissassemble my machine, remove the broken hinge, replace it with a new hinge and take off the back stand to fix the vesa mount that apple sells?
