Please can someone assist me with uninstalling Joy Launcher. This app was installed without permission. It is killing phone battery and eating data. If I disable it always updates when phone is near to a wifi spot. I cannot carry on with this phone
Hi! You can’t uninstall this app, as it is the Launcher for your version of Android. It is basically the interface’s skin. However you could install another Launcher, like the Google Launcher (which is, in my opinion, the best one out there, but there are plenty options in the Play Store so you can choose what you like best) and disable this one without it re-initializing every time.
This worked for me. Settings - Apps - File Manager (or Files) - uninstall updates. I was then asked if I wanted to revert to standard Android launcher, clicked yes. Joy all gone! Not quite sure why, but the Joy thing seems to work via file manager. First time I did this, Joy came back after a few weeks. I’ve now switched off automatic updates in Playstore, hopefully that will do the trick.
Goto settings-memory and press on Memory used by apps. There you will find the annoying launcher, remove the updates and this will remove the launcher from your Pixi. You have to replace own icons on the screen.
Go to Google Play Store. Download Google Launcher App. When it asks if you want to allow it (vs Joy Launcher) to launch, choose ALWAYS use Google. Set up the phone with icons where you prefer. Google does MUCH more, voice commands, weather, location data like traffic, restaurants, time of travel, etc. Basically you replace Joy Launcher with something else.
Go to the Google Play store. Find Joy Launcher and only then you can uninstall it. BE SURE YOU GO TO THE OPTIONS ABOVE AND UNCHECK THE AUTO-UPDATES. If you don’t, this annoying aps will come back EVERY DAYS like a yandere girlfriend. It will still try to install itself after that, but not without your permission.
Install aonther louncher, I installed Nova Louncher. Problem was, that JOY Louncher alwayes crashed - so I could’t start anything. So I pressed home button long => Google OK opened, I typed play and choosed play store, installed nova louncher and choosed it when it asked me which louncher should be used. I’m very angry about alcatel POP S4- never by a china handy again, big brother is watching and tehrefore performance is slow ! Can’t get rid of facebook and insta too. I bought a motorola phone now
I hate Alcatel onetouch launcher, because it’s too much, please let me, how I can uninstall the onetouch launcher
I have figured a way to keep Joy Launcher and all it’s garbage apps from Alcatel from installing on your device.
- Open Google Play on the device
- To the left of the search box click on the 3 lines
- Choose Settings
- Choose Auto Update Apps
- Choose Do not auto update apps Once that is done go to Settings/Apps on your device. Look for these apps: Joy Launcher Calendar Lite TCL Weather Joy Launcher Live Wallpaper Turbo browser (looks like a blue Chrome icon) Joy Recorder File Manager (purple folder) Calculator Free (green/gray icon) Updates (blue circle icon with a round arrow) Click on each of these and in the upper right hand corner click on the 3 dots and choose Uninstall Updates. Once you have done this your device will revert to the stock apps and will no longer force install these apps.

For Alcatel Pixi Go onto settings - Apps - Launcher (picture of a house) top right drop down - uninstall - return to factory settings.
I’ve always used and loved Nova, but needed a change. I use a Pixel 2XL and wanted something close as possible to the Pixel Launcher; but with icon theming et al. Also I want my Google Now feed via swiping left on the home screen (what I’d call the ‘signature’ feature of the Pixel Launcher). In its defense, Nova recently saw the release of a companion app for this. You can go this site to know more about ilauncher: https://apkwebs.com/download-ilauncher/ Still, the LAWNCHAIR launcher, along w/ its Google Now companion app ‘Lawnfeed’, have been JUST what the doctor ordered! It’s smaller, faster and more simple than Nova; yet more robust than the Pixel Launcher. I couldn’t be happier. Again, I was a long time Nova user and don’t mean to put it down. But I won’t go back any time soon. IMO, Lawnchair should eventually surpass Nova in total downloads/active users. I’m really surprised its not on this list and frankly it seems like an oversight. Give it a try!
