My computer is 4 years old. Love it. But it’s had a lot of use. Regardless of the power supply and cable, I sometimes need to wiggle the connector to get the red charging light to come on. I think that I may need to replace the magnetic connector and whatever it is connected to. Is that easy enough to do? and what do I order?
Do what John said. I use a wooden tooth pick to make sure the retractable pins on the adapter are coming all the way out. Use a Q-tip soaked in alcohol and clean the receptacle on the machine. A good quality single malt Scotch will work fine. I prefer mine neat with a single cube of crystal clear ice chipped off a block. As long as I use it to clean with, it becomes tax deductible.
Look inside at your pins - there a 5 of them look for one loose or pressed in I personally when the charger as been off for awhile use rubbing alcohol and a pin to free it then let it dry out.
