Tone rings… designed to fail…. $250 replacement ($13 tone ring $100 labor / piece) I JUST replaced mine, and now the ABS light is ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON/OFF. i never know if the system is on / working or not. Cant wait for the answer to this one….
When the tone ring was installed chances are the mechanic didn’t clean all the rust and metal shards that could be left over from removing the old one and now you have some metal stuck to the magnet in the sensor. cleaning the sensor will probably fix the problem
