Hey all, Just replaced my Macbook battery and the charge is lasting a fantastic amount of time! Only problem I’ve run into is an inaccurate display of charge. For instance, Coconut Battery displays it at anywhere from 95-99%, while the icon on the top bar displays 100%. I was in the process of calibrating it after an SMC reset, but noticed that it went to sleep at around 29%. I know we’re supposed to wait at least five hours so it fully drains before charging again, so I was concerned that it wouldn’t be enough time if it was still so high. Any advice on this? Here are specs on the battery: System Info: Battery Information: Model Information: Serial Number: D8622873BQZDNMGAXManufacturer: SMPDevice Name: bq20z451Pack Lot Code: 0PCB Lot Code: 0Firmware Version: 511Hardware Revision: 3Cell Revision: 1150 Charge Information: Charge Remaining (mAh): 8071Fully Charged: NoCharging: NoFull Charge Capacity (mAh): 8604Health Information:Cycle Count: 2Condition: NormalBattery Installed: YesAmperage (mA): -1670Voltage (mV): 12058 P.S.: Other small issue, Dark Mode keeps switching off and back to Light Mode after shutting down and restarting. Mildly irritating.

The battery pack manufacturer is a major one but the electronics are faulty. Unfortunately there’s an awful lot of batteries with the same issues on the market, although a sudden shutdown at 30% seems worse than usual. Try contacting the vendor and explain the situation, they should replace your battery and maybe make them more responsible on what they place on the market. Differences between Apple and Coconut percentages are standard on newer machines, probably they take different references to calculate. I didn’t understand where you picked the 5 hours waiting before recharging, but it doesn’t make sense.
