I changed the battery last night. everything went ok except had trouble getting the adhesive strips to stick to the battery. they came loose before inserting into the phone and got a little balled up. I straightened as best as I could but they still had a “wad” in the middle but, not having any more strips, I installed anyway. what problems might this cause down the road?
the new battery started at around 47% so I’m letting it discharge to 10% before re-charging to 100% per instructions. However, it seems to be discharging more rapidly than expected. Is this normal on the first cycle before the battery is “trained”?
Shouldn’t be any issues, unless the battery does not seem to stick to the iPhone housing
Personally I do not bother with this stuff, I just use the phone as usual. Try restoring the iPhone, make sure you backup your phone via iTunes first before you restore the phone as it wipes all data on the phone, it may help with rapid battery drain. Also did you check the battery health of the previous battery? Use either one of these methods to check your battery: Windows PC - 3UTools Mac OS X - CoconutBattery Using mobile app - Battery Life Replacement batteries should not be draining fast, could be a defective or refurbished battery.
