I replaced the battery and trackpad with no hurdles. Everything powered up and worked fine on the first try. I calibrated the battery as iFixIt suggested. I had great battery life the first full day of use. I plugged it in, had a green LED indicator and a 100 percent charge showing on the battery icon. The following morning, there was a red low power icon. The machine would only boot when plugged in. The battery icon still showed 100 percent charge. I did an SMC reset and ran an Apple Diagnostic. That resulted in a “battery not detected” reference code PPT001 result. Coconut Battery shows zeros across the board. It’s not seeing the new battery either. I re-seated the battery connector, and I didn’t see any obvious damage or pin mis-alignment on that connector. I’d appreciate any suggestions.
Not good ;-{ The micro-controller within the battery has failed. Contact the iFixit store for an exchange
