I just replaced the charging port on an iPhone 7+ going step by step through the ifixit repair guide. The phone will not charge still.
It is possible you have a defective replacement part. Small parts, such as charge ports have high defect rates compared to replacement screens. Ideally you need to try a known-good replacement part. However, if you’re original problem was charging, then you may have a logic board issue, specifically the charge circuit. That requires a different skill-set to troubleshoot and repair. Consider having a micro-solderer look at your phone.
