When Apple releases a new version of OS it does supply all of the needed drivers for the supported systems with that release. So I’m not sure I follow you here. It’s possible you have an older system which can’t run the newer OS-X. Please review these Apple TN’s Mac OS-X - System requirements for OS-X Mavericks OS X v10.9, Mac OS-X - System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion OS X v10.8 and lastly, Mac OS-X - System requirements for OS X Lion v10.7 and OS X Snow Leopard v10.6

If you have the latest version of Goggle Web Tool (GWT) installed. I would post a question on Goggles support page for GWT on how to control setup GWT on your system. There maybe a setting that needs to be set to set which graphics services are used. I suspect that could be your issue. I will need to try setting it up on one of my systems but I need to know your exact model to be sure I’m running on the same system. Please supply the last four digits of your serial number so I can verify your systems model and I can get ahold of the same within my large collect of gear here at work.
