Hello. Successfully replaced the battery in my gen1 iPad Pro 12.9" but damaged my screen (lcd) in the process. Have now replaced the lcd but it’s dark and completely non-functional. Battery is charged to the best of my knowledge. The ribbon cable connectors were difficult to insert, did not just click and lock in immediately despite being extremely careful. The home button swap went okay as far as I know too. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

As promised here are some information and something you can try: Start by opening the iPad back up and disconnect the battery first, then the screen, of course taking care to do so carefully to avoid damage. Inspect all components, cables and connectors and reconnect the screen prior to the battery. Try turning the device on again, without closing the iPad up.If it’s still dark and nothing working, chances are you either did some unintentional damage when you connected it the first time, or you could have received a faulty part. Even iFixit aren’t exempt from the occasional faulty part :/
