anyone ever seen this? It starts as the flashing “no folder” sign for 2 minutes, then the folder turns to an apple and it starts up and runs perfect! This is definitely new to me, anyone know why this would happen? Thanks! Update computer had the wrong ram! one 533 and one 667, problem solved.
Sounds like your hard drive is starting to fail. Back it up ASAP. Then start up from your system installation disk by inserting the disk and holding down the “C” key on startup. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your drive on the left and see if you can repair it.
I’ve seen this when a HD that was formated and installed in another computer is beeing used. Somehow the system seems to take a while to find the “bootstrap”. Try reformating and installing on that particular machine.
