Hey guys, I’ve been replacing iPhone screens since iPhone 4 (cause I always smash them). This was my first 6s plus repair, and everything worked fine. After a while though, the screen went black, it only backlits. The phone is on and the touch seems to be working still. Do you guys think it’s the flex cable? Could it be something else? It occasionally works again but after I use it for a while same thing happens. Thanks for the help!

The first thing to do is to eliminate the screen assembly as a potential failure point. It could simply be a bad or low-quality replacement screen. Also check your connectors and flexes. The iPhone 6S series has a very sensitive backlight circuit. If you did not disconnect the battery prior to removing the screen assembly connectors, specifically the LCD connector), then the backlight filter or the entire circuit can blow.
