I have a mid-2014 Macbook Pro that has no sound at all and doesn’t show any output devices. Diagnostics shows error VFF001 (there may be an issue with the audio hardware). I found a forum thread where someone could fix this by replacing the I/O board, however it was for a different model. I’m not sure, is the audio card located on the I/O board or the logic board for my Macbook? Which one would I need to replace? Thanks!
Your system uses a different setup! Apple originally had the Amp logic (Yellow) and headphone (Grey) on the main logic board as you can see here:
Sadly this is what needs repair or you’ll need to replace the logic board.
