Hello, I’ve replaced the iPhone 6 battery with one from iFixit and have used all the steps as described. I was very careful and the new battery does work: I hear sounds, iTunes recognizes the phone etc. But the backlight doesn’t work, unfortunately…. When shining a bright flashlight onto the display you can see that everything works just fine, but the phone itself doesn’t emit any light. What should I do now? Thank you in advance!!!
You have a backlight issue. Either the backlight within the screen assembly is defective or the backlight driver circuit on the logic board was damaged. Did you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen? Forgetting to disconnect the battery before removing the screen can cause the backlight circuit to blow. This requires a micro-soldering repair and is not a DIY fix. I would also double check my screen connections just in case they aren’t properly seated or have debris that obstructs a good electrical connection.
Hello. I changed the battery in my sons iPhone 6s followed instructions but clearly done something wrong …. to the delight of my girlfriend lol… I connected the display back up it worked. I screwed all the plates back on and then closed it up ….and then I got a black screen. Took it apart checked the connections etc. Turn it on - still no screen . Kept trying and then it worked again but the went off… I shone a torch through the screen and can see the faint picture. So guessing it’s a back light issue. If I had blown the chip, would the issues be intermittent as 1 times out of 10 attempts it works but then quickly goes off? I Just don’t get it. And now feel bad for my son. I’ve order a new front (complete) I guess I can only try that if not - I’ll have to buy him another one. thanks for any ideas or just words of encouragement thank you
