I have an A1708, macbook pro 2017 non touchbar. It currently doesn’t have an SSD in it. I wondered why I can’t boot it? I plug it in and it makes the charge sound, but nothing on display, not the charge sign at all. The screen has been tested elsewhere and works fine. I wondered if it needs the SSD in it to actually boot? It also illuminates on the caps lock key but not illuminates keyboard.
Yes! You need the SSD drive installed. All computers need a storage device of some sort to hold the OS, apps and your data. But before you get a replacement SSD for your system where did you get your computer?
