Hi! So i’ve brought a iPhone 5c 8gb off ebay for 20 pounds, just to see if its going to be a hit or miss. So now i have it at home, and it does connect to my PC, but there is nothing on the screen; it doesnt even light up. Nothing. When i use the mute switch, and switch it on and off, i dont hear or feel any vibration what so ever. The screen is heavily shattered so i get why it wouldnt turn on. When i plug it into my charger, i dont feel/hear it vibrate either. When i turn on sound, it doesnt do the charging sound either, so should i invest into a screen, to see if this thing even works? There is no water damage from the inside, since no stickers are red. I am not sure if the backlight is fried, but it doesnt actually look like it is, because when i put a flashlight against the screen, i can’t see anything either. Any help will be very appreciated! =)
I guess that’s up to you…only you can decide if it’s worth sinking any more money into an iPhone 5c. The first thing to try, if you decide to proceed, is to disconnect the screen (battery first!) and then connect the phone to iTunes. If it is capable of booting, iTunes will recognize it. If it doesn’t even boot, a new screen wont really help.
