Had a xbox one that was turning on, staying black screen and then turning off after 30 seconds. Opened the console and replaced the HDMI Retimer. Put console back together and it now boots and stays on, TV recognises a source however it stays a black screen. I have tried booting to recovery mode, tried a new hard drive. Tested the 2 filters behind the HDMI port and they have continuity. Is there any other fuses or filters that could be faulty on the HDMI circuit or is it a completely different fault all-together?
Usually turn off after 30 seconds indicates board problem or bad HDD. But as you say it’s now staying on I’m leaning on either a dud replacement HDMI Chip (these are quite common depending on where you buy it from). Or the graphics chip APU has gone bad.
