Hi guys I recently changed my wifes screen after she smashed it on her 7 plus. I have done quite a lot of screens from 3gs right up to 6s. 30-50 I would say. I changed the eldests 6s screen 10 times in a year! This was my first 7 plus. When I put the screen on, and power up phone, the top section of phone gets really really hot, and takes a long time to boot. Once it boots it says no touch ID, the home button doesn’t work, nor the front cam or earpiece! I got a cheaper screen off ebay at first and assumed this was why. So I got a decent one from ipart4u. This one went together so easy and I was sure that the issue was with the cheaper screens ribbon cable for camera etc, as it was a psin to snap or click in, but same issue pesists! Have I somehow damaged the phone? With old screen on touch ID is fine, but I tried to take the original cam ribbon off to use on the first cheap screen and broke it! They really stick those on huh?! Any help appreciated
Did you transfer the Home button from the original screen to the replacement screen? If you didn’t, then you need to do that in order to maintain TouchID. Just asking because it’s not clear in your description. It also sounds like the replacement screens had the FCAM/Sensor already pre-installed. Some times, those parts are pretty low quality and can cause issues. I would have said you should transfer over the original FCAM but you tried after the fact and it got damaged. Check out @benjamen50 answer over here (Boot loop if both front camera and home button is connected) for guidelines on what to expect from a boot perspective for an iPhone 7 series device. Run those configurations and replace a faulty part (FCAM?) as appropriate. Please be careful with the Home Button, it is easily damaged.
