So i bought an a1502 for cheap from someone in hopes of being able to fix it . I dont know exact model but its got 8gig of ram and retina display. When i power it on , the machine makes the chime noise and i placed a light up to the apple logo and could see the login screen so the display seems to be working just no backlight. Also the keyboard backlight is not working. I checked fuses visually and everything else that i could think of but the only thing i saw that was bad was the keyboard backlight connector (or at least i think that is what it is ) …does that control backlight of screen too ?

Yes, that’s the keyboard backlight and looks charred and burnt for good. However it doesn’t share anything with screen backlight, thus even if you’d be able to fix that you wouldn’t get back your screen backlight for sure.

Time to use a Microscope and Soldering Tools ans Schematics , this guy videos may help a lot. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl2mFZo
