I have a problem with my MacBook Pro 13 late 2011 model a1278 It was working fine, I needed to change the glass from my display because it was cracked, easy fix, but while changing it I damaged the lcd itself, so I changed that but damaged the lcd cable so I changed that also I have now gone through 3 lcds and 3 cables but it still doesn’t work for some reason I have had intermittent success, meaning twice everything worked perfect while I was just checking to see if it worked, but I tried connecting it again, didn’t work, what I normally get is just the backlight on the lcd working, but no image I should also mention that the external display works fine Any help or fix on this issue?
The ‘11 models switched to a controller/fuse for the LED… when you damaged either the LED or the cable you likely blew out the controller. With your track record I’d look for a computer repair or small electronics repair shop to tackle this… you have to desolder the old component and rsolder in the new one. Soldering logic boards takes lots and lots of practice, & special tools If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
