Hi.. i have iphone 7 plus but no signal, always searching and no service. And also blank modem firmware. now it’s running on ios 13.4.1, the question is, could i update it OTA? There’s notification about update to ios 13.5.1.. I’m affraid it will be stuck on activation failed.. thank’s before
You have a problem with your Baseband CPU. If it is a Qualcomm logic board and no audio IC fix has been attempted it will have developed a short inside the Baseband power management chip sending a high voltage to the Baseband CPU. Apple had a recall on this model for a while. If this is the case it is not fixable. On the other hand if it has had the audio IC repair done it has probably caused bridged solder balls under the baseband CPU from too much heat being applied to the audio IC which is on top of the baseband CPU. This is not an easy repair as the baseband CPU is married to other chips on the board so you just cannot replace it. It will have to be lifted and re-balled.
