Here is a link to aforum discuion and cure for your problem Good luck Ralph http://www.realworldautomotive.com/forum

Try pressing the ODO/Trip ODO button first. It resets the circuit. My light came back on as soon as I tried it. It will save you much time and headache!

just a couple of bad resistors, cost me $1 for a pack of 5, and you only have to replace 4 of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84FAjLxoK… that’ll talk you through it

Fixed it last night after watching a youtube video http://youtu.be/ebTS25sNOHQ buying a 5 pk of resisters at Radio Shack and watching a video on how to solder and purchasing a soldering iron and metal to solder. soldering http://youtu.be/I_NU2ruzyc4

This happened in my car, the above links are true. There are some crappy resistors inside of the instrument panel, replace them and you are good to go!

The reset button works but then it cuts back off evertime i start the car back up

Didnit continue to track miles while it was out? I may be buying a Buick that has this issue. The sticker on the window says oil change is due in a couple weeks or 89,000 miles. I’m curious if I fix it, if it will show 127k on the odometer meaning the guy had the sticker made up or if the sticker is legit, it will show the ~89k on the odometer. Basically, my question is, if it burned out at 100 miles and you drove for 300 miles then fixed it, will it show 100 miles or the correct 400 Miles?

It will show the correct 400 miles. The failure only involves illumination, not function.

Worked like a charm! Thanks for the tip! :)
