I recently replaced the display on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) with Touch Bar and now the keyboard backlight is not adjusting automatically in low light. I’ve tried manually adjusting the keyboard backlight and there is no response. When I got to the appropriate system preferences for the keyboard there is no option for me to check or uncheck “Adjust keyboard brightness in low light“. It just lists the options “Touch Bar shows [Expanded Control Strip]“ and “Press Fn key to [Show F!, F2, etc. Keys]“. Has the keyboard backlight somehow been disabled, or could this be a result of a defective display? Thanks for any help you can provide!

While the part number you supplied is the correct one for the 2018/19 models I fear you got a 2016/17 model by mistake! You’ll need to return it and either get a replacement or your money back to get the correct part from a better source TheBookYard - 2018/19 MacBook Pro 13" Complete Display P/N 661-10037 Vs TheBookYard - 2016/17 MacBook Pro 13" Complete Display P/N 661-07971
