Hello can you tell me whether it is possible to remove the HDD from a MacBook air 2015 insert into a hard drive enclosure and recover data via USB on another Mac?
This model uses a SSD drive which is removable! Here’s the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow to take it out: MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 SSD Replacement. Once you have it removed you can place it into a special case to then attach to your other Mac system using a USB port. Here is what you’ll need to get: OWC - Envoy Pro: Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Enclosure For Apple Flash SSDs (June 2013-Current Mac Models) You do need to be careful here as Apple has a few different SSD’s and not all of the cases will work with them all. You might find one on eBay cheaper as often once used people often dispose of them just make sure it’s the same as this one.
