Hi there, My 2017 15” Macbook Pro had a slight water damage which was fixed. But I realized now that when I open the lid, the Mac won’t start. The sleeping mode doesn’t also work when closing the lid. Does anyone a solution for this? I already tried to replace the trackpad – no fix. Changes in Terminal did not help to solve the problem as well. Thanks in advance!
Well I’ve got some bad news here the Touchpad doesn’t have any involvement in sensing the lid. The main logic board has the sensors as you can see here:
These are located on the back side of the logic board (you can’t see them without removing the logic board) Most likely your logic board still has liquid damage. At this point you’ll need a new one.
