I am working on a TV (Samsung UN46D6000) which does not turn on. To give a run down of everything so far: The TV was working fine until it was turned on one morning and would not respond. The standby light was off and the TV was unresponsive. Removing the header cable from the power supply to the mainboard caused the LEDs to turn on but they did not remain on.I replaced the power supply (BN44-00423A). The LEDs turned on with power disconnected to the mainboard, but there was still no standby light and the unit would not turn on. I checked the voltages on the power supply and the proper voltages were recorded at the pins on the mainboard side.I replaced the mainboard (BN94-05038C). The standby light blinks 5 or 6 times before turning off again when plugged in. When power, channel, volume, menu buttons are pressed, the standby light strobes while the button is depressed.Leaving the TV unplugged and plugging it back in over 24 hours later yielded no improvement. When unplugging the TV it will give a series of blink twice four times (blink blink, pause, blink blink, pause, etc). I am curious what the problem could be at this point. The only board not replaced is the T-con board, but it seems odd this would impact the on/off functionality. Any ideas? What should I try next?
Hi, It could be in the tcon board or it may also be in the cable between the power board/mainboard or the mainboard/tcon board. Here’s the service manual for the TV. In the Troubleshooting.pdf file, Sect 4.1.1 it has a No Power flowchart that shows all the checkpoints and the voltages for a “No Power” problem. I realize that this is not quite what the problem is that you’re having but it may be a good place to start, especially checking if power is available on the tcon board
