replaced the battery and cant get the screen to power back up, but when i was disconnecting the battery smoke came off the connector so did i do further damage to the phone ?
You let the magic smoke escape!! Seriously, smoke and electronics are never a good thing. Something was clearly damaged on the logic board and it will require a micro-soldering repair. Unless you have the tools and skills, this is not a DIY repair.
