I have a iphone 5s not fuly shorted or grounded. No power does not charge totally deads. I opened up the iphone and checked which parts is faulty battery or charging flex or my the lcd. i tried to replace the battery and check on my pc no detection after all when i touch on the board i feel theres a part heating from the cpu but its not the cpu. so i trace which is the part most heating is the u7/pmic when i drop an alcohol and put supply on i saw the part dries out the alcohol and smokes. Is my pmic or u7 damage or possibly there is a caps shortening my PMIC /u7?
It could be either one or the other. Either something downstream is causing a short that overheats the PMIC or the PMIC is damaged itself. The only way to know for sure is to start probing the circuit to understand what is happening. This will require a schematic and a basic understanding of electronics.
