I asked this a few days ago but I thought I’d reword it and see if I get more responses. I tried fixing this one s that had a “broken” power supply. I took it out and put a working supply in and it still wouldn’t turn on. I then put the original “broken” PSU in my other xbox and that PSU worked?? Both PSUs work but when I try putting them in this xbox it doesn’t work. What’s wrong with it?

Check the two pins from the power supply connector on the board with a digital multimeter if they are shorted to ground they will cause this problem. To test whether or not there is a short with multi-meter probes you put the red probe in one hold and the black probe in the other. Put it in resistance / ohms mode and if there is like 0 ohms which will cause the multi-meter to beep depending on the mode you put it in there is a short circuit to ground which is caused by one or more bad components on the board. It’ll be located almost always near the VRMs (Voltage Regulator Modules) which are a set of components used to provide power to the processor and other parts of the board from the power supply.
