Chosen Solution

Dear iFixit users, Hi. I know there’re many different thread with same problem I have. I read almost all of them, but my problem is till in vain.. I replaced rear case(whole housing) and everything works fine except Network. Wi-Fi is OK, only 3G/4G is a problem. I think the SIM is not a problem because the same SIM works OK in another iphone(6s). Also, I can see Carrier service is correctly detected. My situation is, it successfully finds the network provider. But then, it shows 1 bar in the signal strength. After few seconds the status changed to “No service”. I did many tricks regarding S/W (DFU reset, network reset, date/time reset, … ) I also checked whole screws of lightening connector parts. I don’t see anything peculiar.. Could you guide me where do I need to check and replace to solve this problem?

Most people don’t realize that the antennas are embedded into the housing. Those antennas are connected to the circuit board via all of those strangely located screws in the upper and lower area of the phone. SO any mistake in re-assembly can cause reception issues. It is also possible that the issue is with the replacement housing itself. There are some really cheap housings out there. So as tedious as it sounds, you need to find a baseline here. I would suggest you rebuild it back in the original housing to see if it will suddenly work again. If it does, then you probably have a bad replacement housing. If it doesn’t then you may have damaged something on the board or the antenna interconnects.
