I am in the middle of replacing the iphone 4 home button. I the video, I am at the step where the sim card is removed. My verizon phone doesn’t have a sim card slot. Rather than proceed with the process, I was going to put everything back until I could get better directions. Unfortunately, when I picked up the phone, a small right triangular piece dropped out. It has a hole in it. I don’t know where it came from. ’ I don’t know which way to go. Can I ignore the missing sim card step or can someone tell me where the triangular piece goes. (there was also a small cubical rubber piece that fell out, but I think I know where that goes. Thanks for any help

@skoski if this is the same phone as in your other question, you already know that you are using the wrong guide. Your phone is a CDMA phone and the guide is for the GSM phone. Step 26 of this guide is most certainly the piece you are inquiring about. It is also the proper guide for your phone

Only the iPhone 4s (and the iPhone 4 CDMA variant) has the black triangle piece. It sits on the left side of the loudspeaker assembly. It it used to hold the left side of the loudspeaker in place via the left screw hole. Place the plastic triangle in first then the screw on top at the screw hole. Did the piece that fell out look like this? https://www.mengtor.com/ajax.php?act=buy
