I recently got an Iphone 8 to repair and have just finished transferring it to a new housing. Everything appeared to work fine until I realized the taptic engine, charging port and loudspeaker where no longer working. I have tried reconnecting the charging port assembly but have had no success and the phone has never been in contact with water. Would I need to purchase a new charging port or could it be a bad connection elsewhere?
If the logic board charge dock connector looks alright it will most likely be a faulty charging port as the things you mentioned that are not working are on separate circuits.
