Hello, I am in the middle of a screen replacement on an iPhone 8. The problem is that when the cable which goes from the logic board to the home button is installed, I don’t get touch functionality. If I leave the cable unplugged, but LCD and digitizer cable connected. Touch functionality returns, and I can use the phone. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
There might be a damage on the home button flex that causes a short, that would be the most reasonable explanation. If the old screen is still functional move your home button on that and see what happens. Most issues appearing after parts replacements are usually caused by involuntary damages. If you have some good magnification and light might help in spotting where damage is.
