Hey all… I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro that has had the graphics card replaced through Apple’s replacement program. Just the other day however when I opened the computer there was no video. I can hear the fans spinning, but I can’t hear any other activity (of course I have an SSD so there’s not much other activity to hear). I have done all the recommended things on the Internet such as resetting the PRAM and SMC. I took out the memory modules and powered it on and am hearing the error beeps. The computer makes the chimes when I power it on and the keyboard lights up but there is nothing after that. I am happy to replace some of the hardware myself if I know what the issue is but I’m having a hard time nailing it down from help forums and past issues that others have had. Thanks for your help.

Dead GPU. This is the model that has tons of GPU issues. Even if it outputs to external it is still the GPU. The gpu creates the LCD_EN signal to turn on the LCD. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. Even apple’s refurb boards will have this issue.
