Sound on my phone stopped working, so I assumed it was the speaker. Replaced it. Still didn’t work. Replaced charging ribbon as a second thought. Still doesn’t work. Someone please help me before I chuck this thing at the wall. What else can I do?
Chucking it at the wall, while it will feel good, won’t help your phone :>). What happened to the device shortly before the speaker not functioning? Was it dropped, repaired, came into contact with water? The problem with replacing small parts is that it’s hard to know of the replacement parts are good or not. Just because they are new, doesn’t mean they work. There are a lot of low quality replacement parts on the market. Now that said, if it’s not the speaker or Dock flex, then the issue may be on the logic board. There is an IC that is responsible for amplifying the sound and it may be be causing this issue. However, before going that far, try a hard reset of the device (Home & Power button for ~10 secs) and perhaps even a full backup/DFU Restore just to see if it isn’t IOS related.
