I am attempting to use a non-proprietary USB to lighting connector iPhone. I understand that Apple has made their brands of cables, such as the kind listed, to have a means to encode the cable to be supported by iPhone. How, then, do I bypass this coding/chip/programming to use non branded accessories?

The chip is embedded inside behind the charging tip end of the lightning cable. The chip would need to be replaced with one that has passed the MFi (Made For iPhone / iPod / iPad) certification which apple provides to cable manufacturers. In short, it’s something that’s not feasible or viable when you take into account microsoldering work versus just buying a certified / reputable brand cable.
