I’m getting unrecoverable errors when attempting to install Norton Anti-Virus 11. I experienced the same problem with Norton 10 when trying to install on system 10.6 last year. I put in a new hard drive on my MacPro and installed a new system then did the updates to 10.6.6. Then tried installing the Norton and got the errors. I have four hard drives on this machine. My copy of Norton installed just fine on one drive when I had 10.6.3 and updated with no problems. It is still working fine when booted from that drive. I needed some more storage space so I added a new Seagate 1 TB 7200 drive and put a system on it downloaded all the updates, iLife 11, iWorks ‘09 and other software. I could probably resolve the problem by wiping the drive and putting 10.6.3 on then the Norton, then the system updates but I lose four to five hours of loading software time and this problem will pop up on other machines, so a fix would be very helpful. Thanks

I’m running Norton 11.1.2 On a MacPro. If you are not ready to do what you already will most likely fix the problem, loading on 10.6.3, then I would suggest going to : www.symantec.com/techsupp/ You can also install and ignore the errors and go to: http://www.symantec.com/business/securit… and download your current virus Definition and see if it will install. If it does then do the rest of the updates through the program for the rest. That is what use to work on version 10 when it had issues installing. Good luck
