I had a friend drop off his phone that had a charging problem almost 2 months ago and was out of charging since then, I repaired it with a new charging port and his phone still didn’t turn on at all or even show the charging symbol when placed on charging. Btw i’ve opened a small repair from home service and am just 18 so I don’t want to get sued if this goes to extreme lengths since it is his work phone. Is there any way I can get the phone fixed without costing me too much??
Was it showing the charging symbol before you installed the new port? (you mentioned it had a charging problem, but not the nature of the specific nature of the issue). If not, it may be that the charge port was never the problem. If yes, charge port installation is a tricky process. Any number of things could have gone wrong. Check and make sure all your connections are seated fully (especially battery and the lightning flex itself). You can even try to turn it on with just bare bones stuff attached, the board doesn’t even need to be in the housing. just connect the lightning flex, display and battery. Plug into a charger and see if you get anything. Otherwise it’s probably an issue with the logic board, which requires a different knowledge set to fix. Take a look around the board and see if anything looks out of place (signs of liquid contact, burned up or discolored components, etc…).
