Chosen Solution

Hi, I read all this thread and I am a bit confused. My situation is: iPhone 3G dropped into the water (My friend did it). He gave it to me few days after. He tried and I tried to turn the iPhone on + Plug it in to the computer and into the charger (Mistake #1) but it didn’t turn on. I put it in a rice basket for 7 days. Tried to turn on - Didn’t work. Can you suggest what’s next? What could be the reason of not turning on? Battery? Connectors? I read here a lot about touch connectors, but my device is even not turning on :/ So what to do?

  1. Open all device
  2. Clean all the connectors with IPA? (what is the connectors? Ribbon.. these with numbers?)
  3. Try to turn it on again? Is this a good flow? Thanks Shai

just a little taster of what is in your phone.. rice is not the solution! Repairing iPhone Liquid Damage most likely if you clean the phone, clean your battery contacts you might get it up and running. the phone in this guide had been left ages..rust had set in. You might also look at the general guide linked at the top of the iphone guide..different liquids cause different problems.. pollytintop, 3 days ago
