Chosen Solution
about 3 weeks ago my number 6 on both the numeric keypad and regular keypad stopped working. everything else is fine how do I fix this?
Hi @lelu , What it suggests is that the number 6 key function in the keyboard is faulty. Unfortunately you can cause more problems than you solve when you try to repair a keyboard. The simplest solution is to replace the keyboard in the laptop. I assume you meant the model number is I5-f039wm. If it is, then here is a link to the service manual for your laptop. Scroll to p.38 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the keyboard. Also on p.38 you will find the part number(s) for the keyboard. Select the part number appropriate to your location (or laptop - usually the part number is printed on the underside of the keyboard, if you aren’t sure) and then search online using the part number only in the search box, to find suppliers of the part. They are not that expensive. If it all seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote to replace the keyboard. You will already know the cost of the replacement part. ;-) Hopefully this is of some help
