So I’ve had an issue with my system detecting its battery for almost a year now. It still manages to power up and run while plugged in. The MagSafe charger will turn Orange but there is no charging happening. Took it to Apple last year and they said the battery was dead and needed replaced. Decided to hold off on the repair until recently. Thought I’d give it a go myself with the iFixit kit. Everything went well and made the replacement, however like before the battery still is not being detected. Which has been confirmed with running the diagnostics and it came back immediately with the diagnostic error: PPT001 Also to add my MagSafe Charger wire has become exposed, so not sure if that’s causing any issues. I’ve also attempted the SMC and PRAM reset many times with no help. It might be wishful thinking, but could it be a faulty replacement battery? The MagSafe charger needs replaced? Or more likely the logic board? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Well, this is not good at all! At this point if both batteries are not showing any data, either you have two bad batteries or SMC logic has problems. I would pull the logic board out and make a detailed inspection of the other side as thats where the SMC logic is located.
