My original iPhone 6 screen does not work. It only displays a few vertical lines, sometimes white and sometimes multi colored. When plugged into the computer the phone is recognized by iTunes but can’t be accessed because of passcode. I tried a new screen (with no home button or camera) but that screen displays nothing. No lines or anything. The edges of the underside light up when I hit the sleep button so I’m assuming the screen is working. Any ideas what’s going with it and how to get my computer to recognize the phone. When I put the old screen back on the lines show back up. Thanks
You need to isolate a variable here. You may have a bad replacement screen or you may have a problem on your phone or both. If you put back the original screen, does it still exhibit the line pattern or does it too not show anything? If you can repeat the pattern on the original screen then that may prove that the new screen is faulty. Do you have access to another iPhone 6? That way you could test the replacement screen on a known-working device. Also, double-check your connections and always disconnect the battery before working on the screen. Finally, there are lots of low-quality screens out there. Did you buy from a reputable vendor or on eBay/AMZN? If you have an easy warranty path, I would try to return the screen and get a new one. Otherwise, a repair shop will be able to properly diagnose your problem as they have all the parts on hand.
