Hey guys, Just wondering if you can help me or have experienced the same problem as I have. I have a 2017 13” MacBook Pro, with a battery cycle count of 632 and condition: normal. I’m having an issue whereby when I charge my system it doesn’t seem to wanna charge at all, some days it would charge normal till full and somedays it wouldn’t. I’ve tried doing SMP reset etc, changed the fuse in the charger and ran the onboard diagnostic with no problems found… So I’m not sure what the problem could be…cable, battery? I don’t wanna start buying parts just in case it’s not the cause of the problem. I’ve also used coconutBattery to check how much watts it’s charging with, and would fluctuate, on a normal day it would pull 30W and the other it would just be 1W which can’t keep the battery up, therefore, it just dies on me and won’t charge at all.
Sadly, I suspect you have a logic board issue here. Apple used a different setup with the USB-C ports than the 13” or 15” Touch Bar does.
Vs the Touch Bar models
You’ll need to get your system to Apple to see if there is any extended warranty options or if you can get a warranty exception.
