Hi, I have a white 16GB, iPhone 4 that will not type the letters Z and will only allow the back button to work until you turn it on to its side (landscape mode). I just put on a new screen and am wondering if that is the problem or if anyone has had this problem before and what the fix was for is. Thanks for any and all help…
jsknox11, sounds like your digitizer has failed. It is my experience, that whenever a certain area of the screen is unresponsive to touch, that it requires a new digitizer. Try to return your screen to the vendor in exchange for a new one. Hope this helps, good luck.
My assumption on this is that you have a dead spot in your digitizer. To comferm this you should go to your home screen and try dragging an app all around your screen and if it goes back to its normal position when dragged over where “z” would be located its probably a dead spot. And I believe the only way to fix it would be to replace your screen.
