I dont know what the problem is. Ive owned this laptop since Nov. 2008 with no issues until now. I reset my PRAM with no luck. Is my LCD screen gone bad?
Is the line moving or always at the same location ? Same line location when changing the display resolution ? If you don’t get the line on an external monitor and the line don’t change location then the LCD panel is going bad otherwise it would be a faulty (or not well seated) LVDS cable (video cable).
If you really need a new display, fire up terminal and enter: ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed “/[^<]*</s///” | xxd -p -r | strings -6 This gives you the exact display specs. In this model Apple used a bewildering range of LCDs which are not interchangeble.
Looks like you need a new LCD then.
there are airbubbles in your lcd, it will get worse once they pop. it happened to me. it sucks
