So I my macbook charging port burned up after years of use. I bought a new port, connected it, then bought a new charger (used, but in 100% condition, and is official apple charger). It was working fine for a few hours, charging great, then suddenly stopped charging when I reconnected it. I thought the spare part might be cheap/busted, so bought a new one, having the same issue. It charges only sometimes when I connect it (lights up green, then orange). Mac charges perfectly, its just when I disconnect then reconnect it stops. What could be causing this issue? Logic board? Its very frustrating because as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with it. Have tried all the various PRAM and SMC resets, to no avail. Also checked battery health which is fine I believe. Please help me.
Given the fact that you had to replace the Dc in board, I take you had a spike and that probably damaged your charging circuit too. Assuming you have a good battery, there’s unfortunately nothing else in play beside the logic board. It’s not going to be an easy repair either..unless there’s some visible damage giving some hints, an intermittent issue forces a Tech to replace all main components at once.
