I’ve got a situation where 100% of the LCD (iPhone 6s) works but touches are registered only on the top 50% of the screen, meaning I can turn off the phone but I can’t unlock it. I was thinking of replacing the LCD but wasn’t sure if this would actually fix the problem as it could also be a problem with something further down the chain. Thoughts on whether replacing the LCD assembly (including the digitizer) will solve the problem are appreciated.
I am guessing that it is just an issue with the screen. It would most likely be fixed if you replaced it. Has the phone been water damaged at all? That is the only other thing I can think of that might mess up the screen without it being broken. If you are thinking of doing the repair by your self, make sure you test the new screen before you actually install it all the way to make sure that the issue was with the old screen and not a more internal issue. Good luck! :)
Adding a note that replacing the screen did fix everything. Nothing wrong with the internals.
