Optical drive functions intermittently. Sometimes reads discs w/o problems while at other times ignores the disc completely. Problem doesn’t seem to be related to the length of time the unit is turned on.
This is typical of a laser going bad. Sometimes they will work fine but other times it will not work at all…it’s likely just wearing out and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.
